NYC seeing fewer flu cases this season, but more hospitalizations

This year’s flu virus is infecting fewer New Yorkers — but it’s putting more of them in the hospital. According to the state Health Department, 5,892 New York City residents were diagnosed with the flu from Oct. 1 through Jan. 13. That’s 378 fewer diagnoses than the first 15 weeks of the 2016-17 flu season….
